She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, I have now seen the One who sees me." -Genesis 16:13
There was a season in my life when Genesis 16:13 became more than just a verse, it became my anchor.
“You are the God who sees me.”
When I felt invisible, overlooked, and misunderstood, this scripture spoke directly to my heart.
Sometimes you can be doing everything you’re supposed to do. Showing up, serving, loving, obeying and still feel like it’s all in vain. You’re faithful, yet you feel forgotten. You’re hurting, but it seems like no one truly understands the depth of what you’re carrying.
That’s where El Roi steps in.
El Roi means “The God who sees me.” Not the God who used to see me or the God who might see me someday, but the God who sees me right now in the middle of everything I’m walking through.
He sees the tears, the heartache, the confusion, and the quiet obedience that no one else is clapping for.
In my unseen seasons, I realized this
Being unseen by people is not the same as being unseen by God.
God sees every sacrifice and every silent battle. And because He sees, nothing you walk through is wasted, and nothing you offer Him is in vain.
